Volvo Unveils the Refined New EX40, Marrying Elevated Design With Smarter, More Intuitive Technology

Volvo has released a new commercial inviting audiences to discover the updated Volvo EX40, a model that arrives with a meaningfully refreshed exterior design.

At the forefront is a refined evolution of the brand’s signature Thor’s Hammer Matrix LED headlights, joined by an upgraded grille, redesigned bumpers, and new LED rear lights, together lending the EX40 a sharper, more distinguished presence on the road.

The transformation continues within the cabin, where a larger 11.2-inch centre display introduces Volvo’s latest user experience, bringing a more intuitive, immersive interface to daily driving.

Further enhancing the experience is the integration of Google Gemini, enabling noticeably more natural, conversational interaction with the vehicle itself.

Beneath these visible refinements lies an upgraded sensor and software platform, supporting a new tier of safety and driver assistance capabilities, including Door Opening Alert and an optional Pilot Assist feature with lane change assist, innovations designed to make every journey both smarter and safer.

Fully electric at its core, the EX40 offers up to 575 km of range on a single charge, reflecting Volvo’s continued commitment to combining sustainable performance with everyday practicality.

As with all electric range figures, these preliminary numbers are based on WLTP testing conducted under specific conditions and may vary in real-world use.

The song playing in the commercial is a cover of “I’ve Gotta Be Me” by Sammy Davis Jr., originally written by Walter Marks for the 1968 Broadway musical Golden Rainbow.
