Steve Buscemi x Telstra Australia Alien Scammers Commercial - The Scampocalypse

Steve Buscemi Leads an Intergalactic Scam Invasion in Telstra’s “Scampocalypse”

Telstra Australia braces for an extraterrestrial assault in its latest commercial, a cosmic scam attack spearheaded, quite improbably, by Steve Buscemi, who appears in double role.

The spot opens aboard an alien command ship, where a bumbling galactic Emperor (Buscemi) presents himself before his equally eccentric Supreme Leader (also Buscemi) to unveil a devastating new weapon: the Scampocalypse, a device that resembles nothing so much as a floppy disk. Paired with the Zalunian system, it is designed to scam the entire planet Earth in a single stroke.

As aliens look on and a swelling, dramatically overwrought keytar soundtrack builds the tension, the Emperor’s scheme appears to be going flawlessly, until enormous BLOCKED warnings flash across the ship’s systems.

An alien scammer delivers the grim news: “Your highness, it appears that Telstra has enhanced their network since the last time we attacked.”

The Supreme Leader’s response is swift and merciless. He presses the “Zap” button, and the hapless Emperor is melted almost instantly.

The commercial closes with a sudden power failure and the Supreme Leader’s wry, weary verdict: “This was worth the trip.”
