In a new commercial, Prada unveils an entirely fresh chapter for Prada Paradoxe, rendered as a cinematic expression brought to life through the distinctive lens of director Barry Jenkins, and starring Prada Beauty Global Ambassador Zendaya, whose presence anchors the campaign’s contemplative, character-driven tone.
Prada Paradoxe itself has, since its launch in 2022, established itself as a widely popular amber-floral fragrance within the women’s category, developed by the luxury fashion house Prada.
The scent was crafted by master perfumers Nadège Le Garlantezec, Antoine Maisondieu, and Shyamala Maisondieu, working in close collaboration with Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons themselves, a partnership that shaped the fragrance’s underlying philosophy.
At its core, Paradoxe was conceived as a celebration of the multi-dimensional, ever-evolving nature of femininity, resisting any single fixed definition in favor of something far more fluid and complex.
“Somebody asked me how I define myself and I didn’t know what to say. Because how can someone be defined when we’re always constantly evolving? I’ve been so many things. I’ll be so many others. You can’t be another one. I’ve even imagined myself in the cinema I’ve always adored. Because identity is not a performance, it’s an exploration. Don’t be afraid of being open your eyes. Feel good. Never the same. But always myself,” Zendaya is heard saying in the ad.
