LiMu Celebrates a Birthday in Liberty Mutual’s Delightfully New Commercial

It’s LiMu’s birthday, and Liberty Mutual’s latest commercial brings the beloved bird to the table, surrounded by a flock of equally distinguished guests, each sharing his species, for a celebration as charming as it is characteristically absurd.

The scene unfolds with Doug arriving bearing a cake, cheerfully singing “Happy Birthday” to mark the occasion.

LiMu’s partner, ever attentive to the moment’s significance, offers a fitting sentiment: “Even though you have everything you could ever want, helping people customize and save hundreds on car insurance with Liberty Mutual. Make a wish.”

No sooner does the thought land than LiMu closes his eyes and wishes, instantly transforming Doug into a bag of premium bird seed, a wonderfully surreal twist entirely in keeping with the brand’s established sense of humor.

Doug, for his part, remains blissfully unaware of his sudden transformation, glancing around in bewilderment as he asks, with weary familiarity, “Are you all imagining me as a big bag of bird seed again?”  a fittingly comedic closing note to LiMu’s birthday celebration.
