Hotels.com urges customers, in its newest commercial, to earn rewards while traveling for work, and to then put those very rewards to use when traveling for themselves, effectively transforming the necessity of business travel into an opportunity for personal enjoyment down the line.
Customers are able to earn these rewards for work travel through Hotels.com’s dedicated Business Travel Experience, a feature specifically designed for professionals who self-book their own work trips.
This system allows such travelers to seamlessly accumulate rewards under their existing personal loyalty profile, ensuring that time spent traveling for business ultimately converts directly into tangible value that can later be enjoyed during personal vacations.
Notably, business and leisure travel remain combined within the very same user profile throughout this process. By simply toggling on the “Business Mode” switch, whether on the Hotels.com website or through its mobile app, users are able to apply work-specific filters, such as corporate rate caps or particular cancellation windows, all while ensuring that any rewards earned continue to pool seamlessly into a single, unified balance.
When booking an eligible hotel that offers a member discount, business travelers are also given the option to make use of the Save Your Way toggle. Rather than opting to take an upfront discount directly on their company card, users instead have the flexibility to choose to pay the full price at checkout, allowing them to bank that discount instead as rewards, ones they can later choose to spend during their own personal time.
Furthermore, every night booked specifically for a work trip counts meaningfully as a “trip element,” or elite night credit, working steadily toward the user’s overall tier status. In this way, booking work travel actively helps users fast-track their progress through Silver, Gold, or Platinum status tiers, ultimately unlocking higher earning multipliers along the way, as well as valuable on-property perks such as room upgrades or food credits to be enjoyed on future trips.
