Uber Eats continues its “Get almost, almost anything” campaign with a hilarious new installment featuring global superstar Cher, highlighting that the platform delivers more than just takeaway meals.
The ad opens with Cher humming along to one of her iconic songs while reminiscing about her 1980s heyday. To turn back time, she orders a time machine via Uber Eats – but things don’t go as planned. Instead of the ’80s, she ends up in 1680, sitting on a cannon in a nod to her Turn Back Time video. When a villager remarks that she looks both young and old at the same time, an old woman facing execution accuses her of being a witch. As hysteria spreads, Cher protests, “I’m not a witch, I’m an icon!” – but soon finds herself tied to a pole, with villagers preparing to burn her.
Realizing she’s stuck, she exclaims, “This is ridiculous,” especially after spotting one of the villagers wearing her boots. The ad ends with the tagline: “Time machine no. Thyme yes.” on the screen.
Cher’s misadventure continues in a series of social media clips that highlight both the challenges of the 17th century and the vast range of items Uber Eats delivers today, including groceries, alcohol, convenience items, and, of course, restaurant meals.
