Tony Gonzalez takes center stage in Hyundai’s latest commercial, highlighting the groundbreaking partnership between Hyundai and Amazon, which simplifies the process of buying a car online.
In this 60-second spot, the TNF analyst is seen in a stadium tunnel, casually starting the process of shopping for a Hyundai Santa Fe on Amazon using his smartphone. As various individuals approach him with requests, their suggestions inspire Gonzalez to make the perfect choices for his new car, from the color to the heated seats.
When a production team member hurries over to remind him he has two minutes to be ready, Gonzalez calmly replies that he’s finishing up. When asked, “What’s your deal?” he replies, “A great deal,” and, to prove it, hands his phone over to the crew member. The man discovers, surprised, that Gonzalez has just purchased a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe on Amazon. Walking out of the tunnel with confidence, Gonzalez adds with a smile, “Multitasking!” and explains that the dealer should have the car ready in no time.
The commercial ends with the tagline: “Buy at Amazon. Pick up at a dealer.”
Former NFL player Andrew Whitworth stars in a similar ad to promote this innovative initiative.
In 2024, Hyundai and Amazon began testing this collaboration through 18 dealerships across select markets, including Los Angeles, Atlanta, Seattle, Denver, and New York. The partnership allows customers to browse, customize, and purchase Hyundai vehicles from the comfort of their home. With features like real-time inventory updates, financing options, and the ability to choose a nearby dealership for vehicle pickup, this collaboration blends Hyundai’s cutting-edge automotive innovation with Amazon’s renowned e-commerce expertise, setting a new standard for convenience in car shopping.
