Former NFL player Andrew Whitworth is the face of a new commercial promoting the partnership between Hyundai and Amazon, highlighting the ease of purchasing a car online.
The ad begins during a two-minute break in a major game, with Whitworth seated at his desk as a commentator. Completely engrossed in his phone, he ignores numerous production team requests, causing mounting tension among the behind-the-scenes crew. Concerned that Whitworth won’t be ready when the break ends, a crew member asks for his screen to be displayed. To everyone’s surprise, the entire stadium gets a live look at Whitworth’s phone, revealing that he’s purchasing a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 on Amazon.
“We don’t have time for him to buy a car, Tom! Do something!” shouts a frustrated team member to another crew member standing near Whitworth. Tom tries to approach Big Whit again, but he is stopped by another man, who had previously told him that he bought a car on Amazon himself a few weeks before.
Moments later, Whitworth triumphantly exclaims, “Done!” and the room erupts in cheers.
The ad concludes with the tagline: “Buy at Amazon. Pick up at a dealer,” emphasizing the convenience of the new service.
