Carmoola Pirates Ransom Demand TV Advert

UK-based startup Carmoola has launched a new TV advert, titled “Why Pay Any Other Way?”, aimed at encouraging consumers to rethink how they finance second-hand car purchases.

The ad opens with a woman telling her guest that she has just spent nearly all her life savings on a car, leaving her short on spare cash. When asked why she didn’t use Carmoola, a service that allows monthly payments for car purchases, the woman responds rhetorically, “Carmoola? Why would I need that?” Their conversation is abruptly interrupted by breaking news on TV, announcing that a young man has been captured by pirates for ransom. Shocked to see that the man is her son, the woman is left speechless.

The ad closes with a voiceover delivering the tagline, “Why pay any other way?”, and introducing Carmoola as “the future of car finance.”

Carmoola offers a smarter, more flexible way to finance car purchases. The company uses thousands of data points and fully automated decision-making technology to provide customers with an instant budget and finance approval within 60 seconds. Before they even start searching for a car, potential buyers know exactly what they can afford.

Once approved, customers are issued a virtual credit card that gives them the freedom to buy any vehicle, whether online or at a physical dealership.

Carmoola’s post-purchase experience is designed with flexibility in mind. Customers can adjust their finance terms, pause payments without penalties, and modify their monthly expenditure based on changes in personal circumstances, ensuring a personalized and adaptable approach to car finance.
