Zillow and Ryan Reynold’s company, Maximum Effort, have collaborated on a new advertisement inspired by the Emmy Award-winning Disney+ series “Bluey,” particularly its extended episode titled “The Sign.”
Narrated by Dan Brumm, the voice of Uncle Stripe in the show, the 30-second commercial offers a tour of a home filled with nods to “Bluey,” such as a stuffed sea turtle from the “TurtleBoy” episode and a green balloon from “Mum School.”
Brumm’s voiceover emphasizes Zillow’s belief that a home holds more than just physical elements, but also cherished memories. Despite the bittersweet emotions stirred by a recent children’s show, Brumm suggests that moving into a new home could be an opportunity for fresh beginnings and new memories. “At Zillow we know that a home is more than just floorboards and window sills. A home is where memories are made and despite how a certain children’s show made us all feel recently, moving into a new home might just be a good thing. A chance to make new memories, a fresh start, a whole new chapter,” he says.
The advertisement concludes with a humorous scene featuring four blue Heelers next to a “for sale” sign, prompting Brumm to playfully scold them. “Oh, come on guys, you’re killing me here,” he tells them.
Ravi Kandikonda, Zillow’s senior vice president of marketing, expressed the company’s empathy for families experiencing emotions similar to those portrayed in the recent “Bluey” season finale, where the Heeler family grapples with selling their home. Kandikonda highlighted the message of reassurance in the advertisement, emphasizing that moving homes doesn’t have to be solely melancholic but can also be a positive experience.
