Waitrose Christmas Advert - A Waitrose Mystery

Waitrose has unveiled its 2024 Christmas campaign, titled “Sweet Suspicion, A Waitrose Mystery” and described as a festive “whodunnit” crime drama from Saatchi & Saatchi.

The ad follows a classic mystery plot with a star-studded cast, including Succession.s Matthew Macfadyen, comedian Joe Wilkinson, Rakhee Thakrar from Sex Education, Fleabag’s Sian Clifford, Dustin Demri-Burns from Slow Horses, and Eryl Maynard from Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple.

The storyline centers on a family of food enthusiasts preparing for Christmas Day. When they discover that their No. 1 Waitrose Red Velvet Bauble Dessert is missing from the fridge, Matthew Macfadyen’s detective character arrives to investigate. In a humorous twist, he interviews each family member, including the family cat, Fig. However, as the video ends, it turns out that a second film in the campaign will eventually reveal the dessert thief.

The two-part campaign showcases Waitrose’s holiday food range while engaging the public in an unfolding mystery. To enhance the experience, an evidence board will be displayed at London’s Kings Cross Station in partnership with ITV, The Times, and The Sunday Times.
