On August 29, power changes everything. Prime Video has launched the official trailer for the second season of the fantasy TV series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”.

Sauron has returned. Exiled by Galadriel, now without an army or allies, the Dark Lord must rely on his own cunning to regain power and oversee the forging of the Rings of Power, which will enslave all the peoples of Middle-earth to his will. Season 2 of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power builds on the grand scale of Season 1, immersing even its most cherished characters in a growing tide of darkness. As elves, dwarves, orcs, men, wizards, and Harfoots face strained friendships and fracturing kingdoms, the forces of good must fight harder than ever to protect what they hold dearest: each other.

The ensemble cast includes Robert Aramayo as Elrond, Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Míriel, Maxim Baldry as Isildur, Owain Arthur as Durin IV, Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, Ben Daniels as Círdan, and many more.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1 is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It takes place during Middle-earth’s Second Age, a time of relative peace that slowly gives way to the rise of evil, notably the Dark Lord Sauron.
