Heinz introduces its single-serve ketchup packets in a witty new commercial, which is presented as “based on true events”.
The 30-second ad features three students who found themselves in hot water after orchestrating a ketchup smuggling operation. The narrative unfolds with the revelation that the smuggling began after the school cafeteria set up a limit of one packet of Heinz ketchup per student. The trio cleverly bypassed the limitation, garnering school-wide fame as they supplied fellow Heinz enthusiasts with ample ketchup during lunchtime.
Eventually, they got caught and ended up in the Principal’s office, where they get asked “Are you gonna tell me how you did it?”.
“For legal reasons, Heinz does not condone starting a ketchup smuggling ring. But we totally get it” onscreen lines read at the end of the advertisement.
Crafted from sweet, ripe tomatoes for that unmistakable thick and rich flavor, Heinz Ketchup has remained America’s favorite for over 150 years. The convenient single-serve packets are perfect for a wide range of settings, including commercial kitchens, restaurants, fast food establishments, cafeterias, concessions, and more.
