EDP United for a Wonderful World Commercial - Astronaut playing piano on tme Moon

EDP has launched a corporate campaign highlighting the importance of global collaboration to combat climate change.

Titled “United for a wonderful world”, the 90-second campaign film draws on the transformative experience astronauts have when observing Earth from space and opens with the onscreen line “You have to leave the island to see the island”, which is actually a quote from Portuguese writer and recipient of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Literature, José Saramago. The ad features six individuals from different countries on the Moon, paying tribute to the planet to the tune of Louis Armstrong’s iconic “What A Wonderful World”.

At the end of the commercial, the narrator points out that “The energy transition is one of the greatest challenges of all time” and “United, we can keep this a wonderful world”.

The campaign, which was developed in partnership with Havas and Krypton, also includes five additional spots with images of renewable projects installed in different countries where the company is present.

By committing to being 100% green by 2030, EDP is anticipating important decarbonization targets and helping to accelerate the energy transition. The company aims to use only renewable energy sources by the decade’s end.
