Set in the vibrant backdrop of 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin explores the origin story of Dexter Morgan (played by Patrick Gibson) as he evolves from an ordinary student to a calculating avenger. Struggling to suppress his darker instincts, Dexter ultimately embraces his need for justice under the guidance of his adoptive father, Harry (played by Christian Slater). Harry introduces Dexter to a strict moral framework, the “Code,” which directs him to target only those who commit heinous crimes while avoiding detection by authorities.

This challenge intensifies as young Dexter embarks on a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department, where he must maintain a façade of normalcy while honing his lethal skills. The series promises to delve deeply into Dexter’s formative years and the development of his complex psyche, offering a fresh perspective on the character’s journey.

The series is scheduled to premiere on December 13, 2024 on the Paramount+ with Showtime network.
