“Why stumble when you can soar?” this is what Virgin Media asks in its latest advert, which highlights that Virgin Media offers the UK’s fastest WiFi Guarantee of any major provider.
Created in partnership with VCCP London, the spot features goat as the pilot of a hang-glider, enjoying the breeze from up in the air, while other goats are stuck on the mountainside, each stumbling around on the precipice.
“Why stumble when you can soar?” the voiceover asks, introducing the company’s new ethos and tagline “See What You Can Do” – all with Virgin Media’s ultrafast broadband.
The soundtrack music is “St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion)” by British singer John Parr, from the 1985 film St. Elmo’s Fire.
The spot, which follows the success of the award-winning ad featuring the Highland Rider, debuted on July 7th and is set to roll out throughout the UK across multiple platforms, including TV, BVOD, Social, Retail, co.uk, The O2, until October 22nd.
David Masterman, Deputy Executive Creative Director at VCCP London , said in a press released that they wanted to dramatise the unstoppable power of Virgin Media’s broadband with the story of a goat who leaves his stumbling herd behind to take to the skies in a hang glider. “Through our market-leading WiFi Guarantee, we want our customers to truly feel like they can do anything in life – like our hang-gliding goat”.
The mountain goat, built in CGI by Untold Studios, the company that created the Highland Rider, will feature across a number of upcoming brand and trading campaigns across multiple formats.
