Uber Eats Idris Elba Commercial

Uber Eats extends its “Almost Almost Anything” campaign with a new segment, featuring Idris Elba combatting a fruit fly invasion in his kitchen.

The commercial commences with the Hollywood actor discovering his kitchen besieged by fruit flies. In a voiceover, he asserts, “You lads must be lost, strutting into the lion’s den, taking a bite of what’s his. But you forgot lions bite back, stalk, hunt, trap. Because on this kitchen island, I am Alpha.” As he strategically sets up a trap for his “foes” using items promptly delivered via Uber Eats, his wife enters, questioning his actions. Perturbed by the interruption, he responds with, “What are you doing?”

The commercial concludes with an onscreen line, “Glory, No. Groceries, Yes,” emphasizing that consumers can purchase nearly anything they need for various situations on Uber Eats.

The broader “Get almost, almost anything” campaign, led by Special with support from agencies like Village Essence Mediacom, Hello Social, and H/Commerce, includes multiple ads, each centering on specific niches and wordplay. Examples include “Apes, Grapes,” “Bees, VBs,” “Laser, Razor,” “Lightbulb, Lightning,” “A.I., Rib Eye,” “Cabaret, Cabernet,” “Evil Spirits, Spirits,” “Nans, Naans,” “Muay Thai, Pad Thai,” “Carolers, Carrots,” “Yeti, Spaghetti,” and “Traps, Wraps.”

Idris Elba joins the growing roster of celebrities endorsing Uber Eats. Previous ads featured Tom Felton ordering magic, Nicola Coughlan experiencing a regency romance, and Robert De Niro and Asa Butterfield showcasing the benefits of Uber One membership. Notable personalities like Puff Diddy, Julia Fox, Tracy Morgan, Zach Cherry, Sarah Silverman, and others have also appeared in past Uber Eats commercials.
