Tostitos has dropped a hilarious new ad to tout its Hearty Dippers and Cheesy Enchilada Dip.

The commercial shows a man on a double date, at his apartment, using his voice-enabled speaker to play music. The date takes an unexpected turn when his mother starts texting him and the virtual assistant starts reading her text messages out loud. Whilst the first ones are absolutely fine, with a good luck wish and an appraisal of his love interest, the messages soon become weird, putting the man in an embarrasing situation, as his mother mentions a foot spray borrowed from his dad and makes fun of him by using bride, groom and baby emojis.

“About to crack? Your chips shouldn’t,” an onscreen line reads at the end of the ad, which sees the protagonist grabbing a chip and dipping it into Tostitos.

Tostitos Hearty Dippers, featuring a delicious taste of white corn, a thick base, and a deep boat shape, are perfect for pairing with hearty, meaty dips, the brand says.
