Tesco Clubcard Advert - Feat. Girl with Big, Googly Eyes And Large Smile

Tesco promotes its Clubcard Prices initiative, through which shoppers receive automatic access to promotions, in a new advert, encouraging consumers to “feel the power to lower prices.”

The spot features a woman who, after scanning her Tesco Clubcard at checkout, unlocks cheaper prices for some of the groceries she purchase. As she experiences the power to lower prices, her eyes turn into big, googly eyes, and a large smile appears on her face. Leaving the supermarket, she gets everyone’s attention thanks to her new “look”, but other Tesco shoppers totally get her because they look the same.

The soundtrack music is the 1990’s hit “The Power” by German Eurodance group SNAP!

The “Power to Lower PriceS” campaign, created by BBH London, debuted in 2020 with three fantastical spots that dramatise the “superpowers” that come to Clubcard holders.

Clubcard members get exclusive deals in-store and online and to get the Clubcard Prices, they just have to scan their Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app or tap their Clubcard/key fob at the checkout.

A 250g Pizza Express American pizza is now only £2.75, reduced from £5.50, and a 667g-pack of Tesco Finest British Cumberland Pork Sausages is now only £4, reduced from £4.70, with the Clubcard. The offers are valid for delivery until March 14.

Last year, the supermarket chain said its Clubcard Prices will remain central to Tesco’s broader strategy to ensure it is offering ‘magnetic value’, running alongside its Aldi Price Match and Low Everyday Prices.
