“We tried to make a commercial with Bradley Cooper and his mom Gloria to tell everyone why it’s awesome at T-Mobile. Things didn’t work out quite how we expected as they tried to tell the world about our award-winning 5G network or Price Lock guarantee. But it’s still pretty fun to watch,” this is how T-Mobile says in the official description for its Super Bowl 2023 commercial.

The 60-second spots is created like a behind-the-scenes video, in which Bradley Cooper and his mother are trying to film various scenes for the Big Game ad. Clad in a magenta T-shirt, the actor welcomes his mother, who plays a T-Mobile customer, by asking how he can help her, but she can’t help saying she doesn’t like the way he looks. The two are also shown mentioning “America’s largest 5G network” and Price Lock Guarantee, but the focus is on the fun they had while filming. At some point, when his mom advises him to smile, Cooper says he knows what he’s doing and that he’s been nominated five times. Gloria immediately replies “But you haven’t won any”, which makes the two burst into laughter.

“Speaking of winning, this year, T-Mobile’s network won the most National awards. Now this just might makes us America’s best network,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial.

As Cooper and his mother leave the production set, he tells her “you did so well”. The narrator adds “Wish they could have said that.”
