Squarespace has unveiled its Super Bowl commercial, starring actor Adam Driver.
The spot, created like a behind-the-scenes video, features multiple versions of Adam Driver on a production set. One of them explains to a reporter, during an interview, why he only works with top-tier talent such as himself.
“It was kind of hard to go within myself to find all these people,” he says, adding “It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my whole life.” “Honestly, I thought it was going to be really great because I don’t like any other actors. So the idea that I can just act with myself for the first time, I can control the pace of the set,” the alter-ego also mentions.
The silence on the set is broken by another version of Driver, who screams “websites make websites!” while practicing for the commercial. Asked what’s next, another version of Driver says “painting and nut farming”.
Last year, the website-building company enlisted Zendaya to star in its Super Bowl commercial. The model/actress starred as Sally, a seashell-themed small business owner who set up a seashell store on Squarespace and expanded her business to selling all kinds of products and services.
Squarespace has teamed up, in the past, with several other celebrities, including Dolly Parton, Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves.
