Publix has released a heartwarming commercial, urging people to celebrate milestones with Publix.
The spot tells the story of a girl named Grace growing up with her mom and Chris, the step dad who sees her becoming a young woman.
It starts with Chris giving a present to Grace for her birthday: she is a little girl, and when she receives the gift, a friend of her explains that “this one is from your step dad.” “Thank you, Chris,” she tells him. Several other scenes with Grace calling her step father by his name are then shown. He helps her study, he is there when she graduates, and when she brings her boyfriend at home, for dinner.
Although many years have passed, Chris is always just “Chris” to her.
However, as the spot ends and Grace is shown wearing a bride dress, ahead of her wedding, Chris enters the room where she’s getting ready and makes a remark of how beautiful she looks. At this point, Grace says “Thanks, Dad”, which brings tears into Chris’s eyes.
