The official trailer for the third season of the Netflix drama series Outer Banks has been released.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at the lives of the Pogues, who realize that they don’t have too many peaceful days in their newfound desert paradise, nicknamed “Poguelandia”. With a coveted golden idol putting them back on the treasure hunt, the pals find themselves again on the run from Ward (Charles Esten) and Rafe (Drew Starkey), although the nefarious father-son pair seem to have frictions of their own. In one of the scenes, Rafe tells his dad he doesn’t need him anymore and he even pushes him up against a wall.
The trailer also shows an emotional reunion between John B (Chase Stokes) and his father, Big John (Charles Halford), who was seen alive at the end of season two, Caribbean crime kingpin Carlos Singh (Andy McQueen) holding Kiara (Madison Bailey) captive and telling her that she and her friends hold the key to the ultimate conquest, El Dorado, and that is his destiny.
Some of the scenes included in the trailer also hint at sparks between Sarah (Madelyn Cline) and ex Topper (Austin North), and also between Kiara and JJ (Rudy Pankow).
The song used in the trailer is “Sloop John B” by The Beach Boys.
Outer Banks Season 3, consisting of 10 episodes, premieres on Netflix later this month, February 23.
