In a new lighthearted advertisement, NerdWallet is urging individuals to make smarter financial decisions starting today. The commercial showcases an elderly man and his wife, portraying a future version of the viewers, engaging in a humorous song with the following lyrics:
“Hey, it’s me, your future you.
You made some bad money moves.
Now we’re totally screwed.
Didn’t find your IRA, thought NFTS were a better place.
Now you still work at 103.
Your boss hasn’t his puberty.
Don’t make your future you hate you”.
The “Don’t Make Future You Hate You” campaign, prompted by a NerdWallet online survey conducted by The Harris Poll, revealing that 86% of Americans admit there’s a financial decision they wish they had made earlier in life and developed by Deutsch LA, also includes another spot that debuted on December 25 and features Jury Duty’s Susan Berger and Community’s Patricia Belcher.
