Mucinex promotes its DM Expectorant & Cough Suppressant in a new commercial.

The spot opens with Mr. Mucus, who dances his way in a couple’s kitchen, declaring that it’s a good day to cough. However, the couple got Mucinex DM Expectorant & Cough Suppresant and are now able to experience a 12-hour relief from cough and chest congestion.

Mr. Mucus is left in the alley, watching the couple’s social media account, where they posted photos of some of the activities they carried out throughout the day. The two life partners have thus enjoyed a yoga class without coughing, a shopping session in an antique shop, and a whole movie without coughing. Mr. Mucus is shocked to see that they didn’t cough for 12 hours and, upon the couple’s return, throws himself into a bush in order to avoid getting hit by their car.

At the end of the commercial, an onscreen line informs that Mucinex DM gives you 12 hours of relief from chest congestion and any type of cough, day or night. The tagline “Nothing Last Longer” also appears and the voiceover says “It’s not cough season. It’s always Comeback Season”.
