On October 5, Google unveiled the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro during its Made by Google event, and also released a series of new ads to showcase the newest AI-powered features available on these smartphones.
One of the spots, titled “AI in Your Hands”, highlights them all, showing how you can turn a grey sky into a sunset or remove people from a photo with Magic Editor, erase a photobomber with Magic Eraser, take amazing group photos with Best Take, which blends images for everyone’s best look, and reduce distracting sounds with just a few taps using Audio Magic Eraser.
“Yep. That’s the AI. Only on Google Pixel 8. The only phone engineered by Google” onscreen lines read at the end of the commercial.
The song playing in the background is “Zoom” by Friend of Friend, featuring Daisha McBride.
The tech giant informed that every new device uses recycled materials, from the aluminum enclosures on Pixel phones to the fabric watch bands, and for the first time, they are expanding Pixel support to seven years of OS upgrades, security updates, feature drops and AI innovations.
Google has also introduced its newest smartwatch, Google Pixel Watch 2, which comes with upgraded performance, all-day battery life (with always-on display), new safety features and sensors for deeper health insights, including Google’s most accurate heart rate tracking on any tracker or smartwatch.
