Zooey Deschanel plays “Fairy Hotel Mother” in the latest Choice Hotels ad campaign, titled “Where Travels Come True” which aims to promote ChoiceHotels.com as an easy-to-use website, that helps travelers find the right hotel with the right amenities at the right value for every type of stay.
One of the spots, titled “Where Travels Come True” and created by creative agency-of-record McKinney, opens with a couple having trouble picking a hotel for their next getaway due to the huge number of options. At this point, Zooey’s character shows up near them, on the sofa, and introduces herself as their “Fairy Hotel Mother”. “Fear not, I got you,” she says and helps them pick a hotel they feel good about. The fairy then starts talking about Choice Hotels, which she describes as “a family of brands with the hotel for every type of stay” and takes the couple on a magical journey to some of the hotels. There are actually two – a Comfort hotel, with spacious rooms and suites, perfect for family stays, and Cambria Hotel, where they could enjoy a stay in two.
At the end of the commercial, the Fairy Hotel Mother asks the couple to hold her wand for a little bit but not wave it at anything. Her voiceover urges viewers to “get the best price by booking direct at choicehotels.com”.
The campaign debuted on March 27 and is set to air on TV and appear across Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and other digital channels, including Deschanel’s own social channels.
