BT promotes its broadband technology in a new advert.
“Get that TV streaming win at staying in feeling,” the voiceover says in the opening of the 30-second spot, which features a family apparently living in a house filled with cushions. When popcorn floods their living room, the mother takes a seat on a huge pile of cushions and watches her favorite show, leaving her husband and son down, on the sofa, watching sports. BT offers 4 fibre broadband plus blockbuster TV, including Netflix, NOW, and BT Sport, all on the UK’s most reliable Broadband technology.
The music used in the ad is a song titled “Fantastic Man” performed by Nigerian funk musician William Onyeabor. Released in 1979, from his “Tomorrow” album, the track is available for purchase on Amazon for $0.99.
In 2021, BT launched its “unbreakable” Fi-Fi for micro-businesses and guarantees coverage across the workplace, full fibre speeds of up to 900Mbps and free tech expert support. This is done by a new business unit launched in 2021, as well, which serves millions of UK firms that are either small by design or just starting up.
