Verizon has enlisted Hollywood star Paul Giamatti and SNL cast member Cecily Strong to star in its Christmas 2022 commercial.

The spot features Cecily Strong wishing Happy holidays to Mr. Scrooge, played by Giamatti. When the latter complains that he can barely get reception outside Ye Old Towne Center, Cecily tells him he need a better network and points out that “tis the season to switch to Verizon”. “You get a free 5G smartphone when you do,” she also tells him, mentioning that Verizon also gives you another great gift, such as a tablet, a smartwatch, or earbuds. “Well, the more gifts, the merrier. For me!” Scrooge replies.

The commercial ends with the voiceover declaring that, “this season, only Verizon gives you a free 5G phone and another gift, like a tablet, smartwatch or earbuds, all on us”.

The deal is valid with a select trade-in and select 5G Unlimited plans. Service plan is also required for gift.
