Software company Square promotes its new POS system for small business owners in a new advert.

The spot features a restaurant owner running her business and highlights that “You can do everything with Square”, such as taking a payment whilst hearing the hottest gossip, processing the online order for every single dessert on the menu, seeing how those new saltfish fritters are going down in the Sunderland branch, and helping customers push three tables together. The voiceover rectifies, however, that for this last task you are on your own and, at the end of the 30-second ad, points out that Square represents “everything your business needs” while on the screen some of the things a business might need, including Point of Sale, online orders, and sales insights, are listed. Moving furniture around also appears, but with a strikethrough.

Earlier this year, Square unveiled a new POS system for small business owners. It is called Square Stand and combines Square’s point of sale software and hardware into one complete solution – it is basically a countertop device that turns an iPad into a point of sale (POS) system.

The new Square Stand is best-suited for users that want not just a POS system, but an entire command centre that can play the role of multiple small business tools.
