Hyundai has enlisted Jason Bateman to promote its fully electric Hyundai IONIQ5, now with two-way charging.

The spot features the actor at a campsite where he highlights that we’ve come a long way because in the old days there were no lights, no heat, no creature comforts, and nowadays you just plug everything into your car. “You’ve got lights, heat, …” Bateman says before being interrupted by a friend who lets them know they are out of pesto. At this point, Bateman offers to make a run and drives to the city to buy some pesto. On his way, he calls his fellows to ask them if they are all comfy and learns that they are not at all without the Hyundai IONIQ5.

“Your journey at its most evolved,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial, introducing the fully electric Hyundai IONIQ5, now with two-way charging.

Bateman has been with the Hyundai since starring in a 2019 Super Bowl ad.
