Booking.com has released its Super Bowl ad, starring Idris Elba.
The commercial features the A-list actor taking viewers on a tour across destinations and passing through places that we’d all love to stay – from hotels, vacation homes and everything in between – delivering the following message: “To be clear, we have never been accused of being flashy, sexy or lit. You know what lit is? It’s kind of lit, you know. So we’re probably not going to show you a bunch of perfect people doing perfect things. I mean, seriously, we named ourselves booking.com, which is kind of lit if we’re talking literal, but we’re okay with that, it’s kind of our thing. Helping you book that perfect state. It’s why we’re planet Earth’s #1 site for booking accommodation. We might not be fancy or cool or do we do karate? Not. Because we’d rather just be honest and helpful and extraordinarily good at this thing we named our company after. At the end of the day, it’s your vacation, and we’re just here to help you make the best of it.”
At the end of the commercial, he also explains how his name is pronounced correctly before saying the tagline Booking.com, Booking.yeah.
Idris Elba is no stranger to advertising at all. He has also appeared in commercials for Squarespace, Stella Artois and Sky TV.
