Swedish retailer tackles the hiding spots for the Christmas gifts in its holiday commercial, created by agency BETC.
Based on the idea that the Pre-Christmas period can be particularly stressful, especially when you are having trouble finding the best gift for your family members, and – once you’ve found the perfect presents – you have trouble finding the best place to hide them, the 30-second ad features several Christmas gifts as they are hidden by a man in all kinds of places around the house, but being accidentally uncovered. His daughter finds a small gift box in the cereal box, his wife finds one under the pillow, the vacuum robot brings out another one from under the couch, and the family’s dog finds his house filled with gift boxes.
“You might not have the perfect hiding spot, but you’ll have the perfect gift” onscreen lines read at the end of the commercial, which is set to the tune of the Christmas song “Merry Oh Merry” by John Hunter Jr, Jason Zaffary, Jonathan Slott, and Brian Flores, from the 2021 album “Christmas Comforts”.
