Malibu has launched a new global summer campaign, “Let the Funshine,” which offers a playful depiction of the social rustiness that can happen a year after social restrictions.
One of the spots, dubbed “New Outfit,” features a woman who shows up at a gathering clad in a fancy yellow dress, paired with high heels and a sequin handbag. One of her friends finds thus the courage to unveil the T-shirt he is wearing under his denim shirt, which is a pink one, featuring heart shapes with the word “Love” on them.
“Whatever happens, let the funshine” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial.
Malibu is encouraging fans to take #FunshineFridays this summer in whatever way that works for them and, every Friday in July and August at 12:00 p.m. ET, is giving everyone an extra incentive to get their weekend started earlier. By visiting the “Let the Funshine” section on the brand’s website, visitors aged 21 and over can virtually “punch out” for the day for a chance to win $2,021 in celebration of summer 2021 and a Malibu Funshine kit filled with items such as inflatable ring tosses, pool floats, visors and, of course, pineapple glasses to accompany that perfect Malibu cocktail.
