Just Eat celebrates the return of Love Island to the screen with a new ad campaign, called “Get Stuck In”.
One of the spots features geckos Gaz & Oz, excited that Love Island is back on. Asked by his fellow how he looks, Oz answers that he looks like a desperate gecko. “Like desperately handsome,” Gaz replies after chuckling. “Just like desperate really,” his friend says.
At the end of the spot, the voiceover, Iain Stirling (who serves as voiceover on the reality show), urges viewers to get stuck into Love Island with Just Eat.
Another advert features Lloyd, a parrot who believes his wings are guns, even though his partner, Izzy, tells him that those are “teeny, tiny wings”.
Created by McCann London, the campaign is set to run across TV, VOD and social.
The characters featured in the campaign are voiced by British rapper, singer and songwriter Lady Leshurr and stand-ups Inel Tomlinson, Tez Ilyas and Jamali Maddix respectively.
“Love Island is finally here and Just Eat is set to help fans get stuck in. As the food delivery sector continues to mature, it’s increasingly important to remain culturally relevant, converting our strong brand awareness into consideration and preference – Love Island enables us to do just that. As fans tune in in their droves, we hope our loveable geckos and lovebirds amplify the joy of indulging in the much-anticipated return of the show,” said in a press statement Matt Bushby, Just Eat Takeaway UK marketing director.
