It’s Pride month and many companies have taked the opportunity to show their support to the LGBTQIA+ community through dedicated commercials. Indeed is among these companies.
Its spot features Taylor, an LGBTQIA+ job seeker who gets ready for an interview and is stressed about it. Taylor is shown reading Indeed’s interview tips for trans and binary people the night before and checking the nails before meeting the interviewer. Luckily, the later proves to be very empathetic. He introduces himself and says he uses the pronouns he/him. “Are you comfortable sharing how you’d like to be addressed?” he then asks Taylor, who is apparently glad to hear the question. “I use they/them” comes the answer.
The commercial ends with the onscreen line “We can’t show what we can do until we can show up as who we are.”
Viewers are encouraged to visit the “Empathy at work” section on Indeed website, where they can find resources for the LGBTQIA+ community as well as for employers.
