Extra Gum pokes fun at some of the things people used to do during lockdown in its latest advert, which celebrates the time we can all get back to our normal lives.

The TV spot is set “sometime in the not too distant future” and features hordes of people finally leaving their homes and returning to their lifestyle before the COVID-19 pandemic. They get dressed to go back to office, which is covered in plants after so much time, to enjoy the sunny days outside, in the park, where they begin to hug and kiss strangers.

The advert also tackles some of the pet hates of the past year, such as unending video calls parents must attend with their noisy children around, the lack of personal grooming, and more.

However, one thing is sure: after grabbing a pack of Extra Gum and chewing a gum, people feel more confident and don’t hesitate to kiss who they would like to kiss.

The soundtrack music is Celine Dion’s version of the power ballad “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” included on her “Falling into You” album.
