AT&T highlights, in its latest commercial for AT&T Fiber, that, if your video call doesn’t connect and you lose out on your chance to ask Elijah Wood a question, you’re not a bad fan, you just need better internet.
The spot, titled “Super Fan,” opens with Elijah Wood in a conference call with several fans, willing to ask him questions. “Your all-time hero. Your once-in-a-lifetime chance to finally ask that question,” the narrator says.
When a fan whose is PreciousBaggins25 has the chance to ask the actor a question, he loses it because of the slow upload speeds and Wood decides to move on to the next fan.
“If slow upload speeds ruin your only shot at that answer, just remember… you’re not a bad fan, you just need better internet,” the voiceover says.
At the end of the commercial, a female voiceover declares that AT&T Fiber delivers 20x faster upload speeds than cable and that it’s limited availability in select areas.
