adidas promotes its new “Stan Smith, Forever” eco-friendly collection, which brings green icons together like never before, in a new commercial, released with the tagline “End Plastic Waste”.
The spot features Kermit the Frog sitting on a bench because the classic low-top tennis shoe will predominantly feature details of this iconic Muppet character and will be made using recycled materials. “Always iconic. Now more sustainable” an onscreen line reads at the end of the video.
The sneaker features Kermit’s Lime Green tone on the heelcaps, tongue branding and “Kermit” inscription on the lateral sides. Two of the sneakers in the collection are crafted with a white PRIMEGREEN upper, made with 50% recycled content, which sits atop of the recycled rubber outsole. For the women’s iteration, it features a printed plant earth-inspired graphics. This includes a white heel tab and ivory tongue graphic. The next sneaker also features an embossed planet earth-inspired graphics. Additional details here include gold eyelets and green heel tabs.
Each of the three sneakers is packaged in the classic blue box, but composed of 90% recycled paper.
The new Stan Smith sneaker is available in seven colorways, including all-black and all-white versions. Versions stamped with the shoe’s moniker in gold lettering retail for $100, while styles without that extra touch go for $85.
