“We don’t insure love, but we do insure the things you love,” this is the Valentine’s Day themed ad from State Farm.
In addition, the insurance company has introduced a new tagline, “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there”.
The 30-second spot, dubbed “Not The One,” opens with a woman breaking up with Preston, her boyfriend. “I’m so sorry, Preston, I need to follow my heart,” she tells the guy, who answers, in tears, that he knows he’s not the smartest or the fastest….”. Eventually, he gets some moral help from Jake from State Farm. The latter points out that she is not the one for Preston. “She’s not the one for you. Sure, she’s got that cool apartment, that brand-new car, but she doesn’t have good insurance. She’s not gonna protect all of her stuff with State Farm how she’s not gonna protect your heart.
“You want the real deal? Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there,” Jake says at the end of the commercial.
The The State Farm jingle (“Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there”) was written by American singer-songwriter Barry Manilow in 1971.
