St.George Bank helps us rediscover the spirit of Christmas with its Christmas campaign, which celebrates the joy of giving and highlights that “It’s not what you spend. It’s what you give”.
The 45-second ad, created by Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney, features a young boy who records some songs and creates a playlist for his dad, who is a truck driver. “Hey dad, here’s a little playlist for the long road ahead,” the boy is heard saying at the beginning of the tape, bringing a smile on his father’s face. The bank’s mascot, Little Dragon, is also featured, helping the kid achieve his goal.
The song used in the ad is the 2018 single “I’ll Be Back For Christmas” by Sylva, from the “Can’t Change Christmas” album. The track is available for streaming on Amazon Music and for purchase on Amazon for $0.99.
“Christmas has always been a particularly special part of the St.George calendar. It’s the time of year where we celebrate connecting with our customers and community, and our annual campaign is a big part of that,” Kate Kissane, head of brand and advertising, St.George, said in a press statement.
The bank’s 2020 Christmas campaign also includes pre-roll and social media content, digital, out-of-home, cinema, as well as in-branch.
