Same-day delivery service Shipt has released a teaser for its upcoming video featuring Snoop Dogg and Gabrielle Union, who are going to host a virtual party.
The short spot features the two longtime friends catching up through a video call and getting ready to cook. Snoop Dogg, who has lots of Shipt labeled bags filled with groceries, surprises Gabrielle with his egg-cracking skills.
“The holidays to me are all about being able to serve my family and friends, as I grew up surrounded by my family doing that for me,” said Snoop Dogg in a statement. “But we’re making new traditions this year, and that’s why I’m glad I get to connect with Gab through Shipt and send ingredients for my best recipes to all my family so I can still be there even if we’re not together,” he added.
Sheila Grady, Vice President of Brand and Product Marketing at Shipt, said ‘We’ve teamed up with Gabrielle and Snoop since they share a passion for entertaining, embracing strong traditions and can appreciate the variety of items Shipt delivers to help them out”.
Last year, Gabrielle Union held a “California Love”-themed party for her birthday, where a number of guests appeared costumed as Snoop Dogg (including Snoop Dogg himself).
The rapper is no stranger to advertising. Earlier this year, he teamed up with the British online food order and delivery service Just Eat to turn its famous “Did Somebody Say Just Eat” mnemonic into a song, and with SodaStream, for its holiday campaign, to encourage consumers to reduce single-use plastic waste. Snoop Dogg declared, in a statement, that he loves his SodaStream so it was natural for him to partner with the brand for this campaign.
