Hudson's Bay Christmas Commercial - Feat. Catherine O'Hara and Annie Murphy

Hudson’s Bay, Canada’s Iconic Department Store, has enlisted stars of “Schitt’s Creek” Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy to help us make the season overly bright.

The two Emmy winners co-star in the retailer’s Christmas ad, titled “A Call to Joy”, which also marks the launch of the Holiday Hub on thebay.com. The spot features the dynamic duo calling Canadians to embrace the festive spirit, regardless of their approach to the holidays. Thus, all of them – from the Holiday Traditionalists, Festive Flaunters and Merry Modernistas to Holiday Hibernators and the Yuletide Uniters, are invited to embrace the festive spirit and celebrate the moments that bring us all together.

“We know that Canadians need some optimism and joy as we head into the holiday season. We took the time to understand the customer mindset – what they are prioritizing, what they are craving, and what matters most to them. Our hope is that having two Canadian fan favourites deliver some lighthearted humour, paired with the nostalgia of our windows and meaningful gift ideas will help to make this holiday season shine brighter,” Meghan Nameth, Chief Marketing Officer, Hudson’s Bay, said in a press statement.

The retailer has also created a Holiday Hub, which was designed with busy customers in mind and showcases inspirational content that makes shopping easier than ever with an immersive mobile and desktop experience.

Consumers can also get inspired by Annie and Catherine’s top holiday gifting picks. Moreover, they can also buy Patrick, the 2020 Charity Bear, and help thus indirectly improve the lives of fellow Canadians. Hudson’s Bay says that 100% of net proceeds from the sale of each Charity Bear will support the Hudson’s Bay Foundation’s mandate, which is focused on improving the lives of Canadians.
