GEICO has released a new commercial to remind people how much they could save when they switch to GEICO.
The spot, part of the insurance company’s “It’s Not Surprising,” features a group of kids in a pool playing Marco Polo and Marco Polo himself in the same pool, unable to figure out why kids keep calling his name. He says he is Marco Polo, but the children continue to play, to his bewilderment.
“Playing ‘Marco Polo’ with Marco Polo? Surprising. What’s not surprising? GEICO helping you save even more on car and motorcycle insurance,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial, informing that now you get an extra 15% credit when you switch, before October 7″.
This commercial, which stars Michael Mazzeo as Marco Polo, Jillian Lebling, Melo Ludwig and Owen Asztalos as the kids, is not the first one featuring a historical figure. In the past, the insurance company has also featured Graham Bell and others.
This year, GEICO promoted its motorcycle and boat coverage, as well as its Giveback program, which implies giving auto, motorcycle, and RV policyholders a 15% credit on their next 6-month or 12-month policy term. The insurance company also launched, in the midst of the coronovirus crisis, GEICO Faces series, which includes short videos featuring GEICO associates across the country, sharing their experiences and thoughts related to working from home, coping with what the pandemic has brought us, and more.
