Insurance intermediary Compare the Market advertises its AutoSergei automated deal-checking tool in a new spot, featuring the company’s famous mascots, meerkats Aleksandr Orlov and Sergei.
The spot, which features Sergei working out from home with Aleksandr as his coach, points out that working from home is also adding a big bulge to your energy costs and that, while we try to keep in shape, you could also lose a few pounds or dollars from your energy bill by visiting Compare the Market and checking if you can find a better deal.
The commercial ends with Aleksandr saying the tagline “It pays to compare”.
Another recent ad features Oleg, the meerkat child, learning the cleaning, swinging, and vacuuming at home school during the lockdown, while Aleksandr, his uncle, is helping Australians save money on their energy bills.
Compare the Market introduced AutoSergei in December 2018 to promote the launch of its automated deal-checking tool EnergyCheck, which offers regular checks and monthly alerts to ensure customers are on a competitive energy tariff.
Sergei and Aleksandr have been featured in numerous ads over time to promote the comparison website’s Meerkat Meals reward program, as well as Meerkat Movies.
The Meerkat Meals reward program allows customers who compare and switch providers and/or buy a qualifying product to enjoy 2 for 1 meals (starters, mains, and desserts) every Sunday – Thursday, for a whole year. The Meerkat Meals membership can be used at thousands of participating restaurants across the UK, including both well-known chains and local independents. The Meerkat Movies program offers 2-for-1 cinema tickets, but only one day/week.
