Colgate Commercial Girl

Colgate advertises its Optic White Renewal toothpaste, which “removes 10 years of yellow stains,” in a new commercial.

The 15-second spot, dubbed “Jeggins Throwback,” features a woman who brushes her teeth and is brought back in time, to 2010, when she wore jeggings for the first time. “They’re jeans, they’re leggings. They’re jeggings,” she told her friend while showing off a pair.

“Remove 10 years of yellow stains with the new Colgate Optic White Renewal,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial.

Another spot features a woman who remembers what she was doing on New Year’s Eve in 2010 and what she was wearing at the party, namely Dougies, and another spot shows a man who remembers that, in 2010, his friend was trying to get in shape with a weight you shake. The ads inform that the toothpaste is efficient when brushing twice daily for four weeks.

Last year, the brand enlisted food science expert Alton Brown to star in a series of ads for the Optic White Platinum.
