California Lottery urges people to give the gift of Scratchers this holiday season, in its Christmas ad.

The spot features a diverse cast of people finding an unexpected gift from a secret Santa: an envelope with Scratchers from California Lottery. Some of them find the envelope in their apartment, slipped under the door, a woman finds it on her windscreen, a man working as a firefighter receives it via his dog, and an old man finds it on his apartment door.

Serving as soundtrack is a song that reminds us that “it’s all about the tiny things”.

The festive snow globe-inspired $1 Holiday Cheer ticket, the $5 Peppermint Payout, which gives players the chance to win $250K and, in addition, is like a fresh, minty scented candle (this is California Lottery’s first-ever scratch ‘n sniff Scratchers), the $10 – Merry & Bright, with 20 chances to win $1,000,000, and $20 – 2021 Scratchers are showcased throughout the commercial, which ends with the voiceover saying “Give joy. Give the gift of Scratchers from the California Lottery”.
