Reese Witherspoon stars in a series of new ads to promote her own book club, Reese’s Book Club, launched along with her media company, Hello Sunshine, in 2017, now available on Audible.
One of the spots features the actress trying to read her book but being interrupted by her dog. Seeing the pet insisting so much, she decides to listen to the book on Audible so that she could play in the meantime with him.
“Reese’s Book Club by Hello Sunshine chooses a compelling new book,” the voiceover says and then Reese urges viewers to join her book club on Audible.
The actress, who picks, every month, one book she loves with a woman at the center of the story and shares it with her book club, announced that her April book pick is Glennon Doyle’s “Untamed”. “This memoir is so packed with incredible insight about what it means to be a woman today, what it means to be ‘good,’ and what woman will do in order to be loved. I swear I highlighted something in EVERY chapter. This book really spoke to me in so many ways! Thank you Glennon for sharing your heart and soul with us! I can’t wait to hear all of YOUR thoughts about this book pick. Happy reading, everybody!” Reese wrote book club members.

One of the spots is actually an anthem that raises a series of questions and gives viewers food for thought, while introducing the idea of listening audiobooks as the key to a variety of issues. “What would it look like if we listened more? Could the right voice, the right set of words brings us all just a little closer, get us to open up, even push us further? It could, if we took the time to listen,” the voiceover says.
Easy exchanges anytime, rollover credits for up to 5 months are also mentioned in different ads, while viewers are also given a glimpse into the titles available on Audible, like Daniel Kraus’ “The Shape of Water”, Patricia Briggs’ “Burn Bright”, Dan Browns’s “Origin”, and others.
