“Pets are trusted secret keepers that see us at our worst – screaming, crying, and yes, ironing.” – this is the idea behind the latest Progressive commercial, which informs that the insurance company covers them in your auto policy at no extra charge.

The 30-second ad, titled “Super Secret,” features several Progressive representatives, including Jamie and Flo, doing various things inside their homes and cars, with only their pets watching. Jamie is shown ironing wearing nothing but the Progressive apron, while his dog is watching, one of his male colleagues is shown holding his breath in the bathtub filled with ice, while his cat is watching, one of his female colleagues is showing screaming from the top of her lungs in the car, while her dog is watching (and listening in silence) from the backseat, and Flo is shown crying in her living room, in front of the TV and her dog.

“Pets. They see everything we do. And they never say a thing. That’s why Progressive covers them in your auto policy at no extra charge. Keeping you and your secret keepers safe,” the voiceover says throughout the video, which is scored by Jim Blake’s “Happy As Larry”.

Progressive offers free coverage for pet injuries resulting from auto accidents. Thus, if you have collision coverage on your personal auto policy, they will cover your vet bills up to a specified limit if your pet is injured in a car accident. Pet Injury pays up to $1,000 for medical care if your dog or cat gets hurt in a car accident, regardless of fault.
