Insurance intermediary Compare the Market advertises its Meerkat Meals and Meerkat Movies reward programs in a new spot, that brings back Oleg.
The 60-second ad, dubbed “No place to call home,” opens with Oleg and his sister as they embark on a journey across the world to find their uncle Sergei and Aleksandr, who are in San Francisco. Arrived at the destination, the two little siblings show a photo of their relatives to several people, asking them if they saw them, but every single time the answer is “no”. When they almost lose any hope, while standing on the Golden Gate Bridge, they drop the postcard, which is found by none other than their uncle Sergei.
“Bring your family together with Meerkat Meals and Meerkat Movies. Only in the Meerkat app,” the voiceover says at the end of the ad.
The Meerkat Meals program enables Compare the Market users to enjoy 2 for 1 meals (starters, mains and desserts) every Sunday – Thursday, for a whole year, when they purchase through Compare the Market. The Meerkat Meals membership can be used at thousands of participating restaurants across the UK, including both well-known chains and local independents. To enjoy Meerkat Meals at independent restaurants make sure that you book your table in advance.
The comparison website also has Meerkat Movies, which offers 2-for-1 cinema tickets, but only one day/week.
In another advert, Compare the Market presented a “fantastic digital creation” called AutoSergei, designed to keep life simple and help people keep a robotic eye on their energy bills. The spot features Aleksandr Orlov and Sergei, as usual, and encourages viewers to find out how AutoSergei could make switching the energy easier.
